UKTV Play is coming to Freeview Play, bringing catch-up streams of Dave, Really, Yesterday and Drama content to your screen.

The service is rolling out to owners of Freeview Play set-top boxes and TVs over the coming weeks and will give people the chance to watch original UKTV content as well as catch up on missed shows.

Emma Boston, UKTV Play’s general manager, says that alongside shows like Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled and David Gorman’s Modern Life is Goodish, UKTV Play will serve up exclusive previews of upcoming content.

Boston said: “We’re committed to building a world-class on demand service and making it available to as many people as possible, so it’s really exciting to be announcing another big platform launch for UKTV Play. Freeview Play users will have access to a slate of incredible shows coming to the service this year, including Dave’s brand new and exclusive Red Dwarf.”

The UKTV Play app also records a history of what you’ve watched, themed ‘collections’ like Real Crime and A Right Royal Collection and will offer recommendations.

UKTV Play has been live on YouView for over a year now and is also available in app form for iOS and Android devices. Sky, Virgin TV and BT TV customers can access all of the free to air UKTV channels on a catch up basis, as well as stream and download content from pay TV channels like Gold, Alibi and W.
