Find Out How A Chef Lost 200 Pounds After Changing His Diet and Undergoing Surgery

The moment 42-year-old chef Matt Jennings reached an extremely dangerous weight of 400 pounds, he knew he had to do something with his diet. He is the man behind the culinary consulting agency, Full Heart Hospitality. In an interview with TODAY Food, Jennings told the story of how he got diagnosed with acute anxiety disorder, high-cholesterol, and foreboding diabetes. He had to choose between his food addiction and dying or making an effort and living. Of course, he chose the latter for his wife, kids and himself.

Matt Jennings says that he lost track of his calorie intake as he was too focused on the fast-paced business of owning a restaurant. He jumpstarted his weight loss journey by getting a gastrectomy, getting a gym membership and leaning on to healthier food options. He lost a total of 200 pounds thanks to a balanced diet containing vegetables, lean proteins, and grains. Jennings advises everyone to put health at a top priority in their lives.
