Porsche Cayenne sets unusual lap record

Porsche Cayenne record

Watch the flagship Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-hybrid set one of the most unlikely speed records ever.

Porsche chose Sweden’s Gotland Ring, which is still under construction and partly unasphalted, for its record attempt.

Running on road tyres and driven by the German racing driver and TV presenter Tim Schrick, the most powerful Cayenne ever clocked a time of 3:51 minutes.

While the 3.2-kilometre northern section of the Gotland Ring is already asphalted and in operation, the 4.2km southern section is still only gravel, so the attempt called for a blend of regular circuit driving and rallying.
