Swimming champ Peaty takes to the track

Swimmer Adam Peaty swaps water for wheels in a CUPRA Formentor

Watch Team GB swimming superstar Adam Peaty MBE get behind the wheel of the all-new CUPRA Formentor for the first time.

The reigning Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth 100m breaststroke champion, who is also the latest CUPRA brand ambassador, took to the asphalt of Oulton Park Circuit.

After getting comfortable with the performance SUV, Peaty familiarised himself with the circuit, following the driving lines and learning to navigate the tight turns and chicanes.

It didn’t take long for his renowned competitive spirit to come to the fore. Eager to set some timed practice laps, the fastest swimmer in the world pulled in front of his instructor and set about delivering three pulse-racing laps to set a fastest time of 1:26:90, and beat yet another record – his own.

Setting off at a punishing pace to set his fastest lap time yet, the swimmer turned it up yet another notch to cross the finish line and clock an impressive 1:24:90 lap time to blow his previous out of the water.

For the record, the 310PS CUPRA Formentor can achieve a 0-62mph in just 4.9 seconds.
