Will Far Cry 4 get its own Blood Dragon?

Far Cry 4 could get its own standalone spin-off a la Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, but it would be something different, rather than a return to the ’80s action movie aesthetic.

“We’re talking about it… you never know,” creative director Alex Hutchinson told Red Bull, when asked about a Blood Dragon-style game for Far Cry 4. “The goal would be to be surprising, so it wouldn’t be another Blood Dragon, but hopefully something equally as odd and left field.”

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon came out in 2012 as a digital-only title, and went on to sell 500,000 copies in its first two months. It even boosted sales of Far Cry 3 itself, according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.

Far Cry 4 comes out on November 18 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC on November 18. It takes placed in Kyrat, a fictional nation in the Himalayas ruled by a self-appointed dictator, Pagan Min.
